THIS YEAR’S PRESENTER: NATHIE MARBURY

ASL Immersion Weekend 1997

Nathie was born in Grenada, Mississippi and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. She has more than 35 years experience teaching both deaf and hearing people at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Connecticut, Kendall Demonstration Elementary School and Gallaudet University in Washington, DC , Catonsville Community College (CCC) in Baltimore, Maryland, California State University, Northridge (CSUN), California School for the Deaf at Fremont, Ohlone College in Fremont, California and Oregon School for the Deaf.

A graduate from Gallaudet University with a BS in Home Economics/Early Childhood Development, Nathie has MA degrees in Special Education and Educational Administration and Supervision from CSUN. In addition, she completed course work requirements in the Ph.D. Applied Linguistics doctoral program at UCLA. Nathie conducts numerous workshops and seminars all over the United States and Canada. Her unique style is interactive, dynamic, personable and caring with a great sense of humor.
